Bosatsu Academy

Kotei Jin

Our protagonist. He left the world of competitive rock-paper-scissors after the incident three years ago. Has incredible perception and tactical sense, embodied in the "Thousand-Devil Eye", a technique which allows him to deduce his opponent's strategy with ease.

Ryoichi Kei

Captain of the Bosatsu team. Handsome, dramatic, somewhat vain, but a skilled duelist and devoted captain. Frequently surrounded by cherry blossoms and adoring fans.

Yukimura Hisoka
A third-year student, member of the Bosatsu team. Tends to be quite serious. An expert analytical duelist, and a close confidante of Ryoichi.

Jihara Akatsuki

Quiet, distant, and mysterious. Formerly a member of Shinku monastery, currently dueling for Bosatsu. Devoted to Ryoichi. He has exemplary perception and speed, which allows him to use his central technique, "Lord of Emptiness", to counter his opponent mid-throw.

Mizumigawa Shin

A second-year student, like Jin. Very rarely found sitting still, she has a lot of energy and enthusiasm. Her precision and speed make her a powerful force in the dueling arena. Has a strong aptitude for learning and applying esoteric techniques.

Kyoru's Team

Kyoru Arashi

Also called "Venomous Kyoru". A peerless duelist with vast power to manipulate his opponents from afar. Was scheduled to face Kotei Jin three years ago, until the incident that made Jin withdraw from competitive dueling.

Tendou Hibiki

Kyoru's second-in-command, a strange, scornful girl with an unusual power. She looks down on everyone. Her "Perfect Mirror" allows her to exactly copy her opponent's movements, then outspeed them to counter their throws.

Lacuna

Lacuna

A mysterious figure, shrouded and masked, with a distorted voice. For some reason, very interested in Bosatsu. Has connections to the Auxesis corporation. 

Tsuki Masako

Also called "The Basilisk". Former second-in-command to Kyoru, now associated with Lacuna. Her motives are unknown. Able to hide in plain sight, and a master of battle hypnosis. Seems to be watching Bosatsu carefully.

Kohitsuji Academy

Hidaka Michi

Captain of the team, heir to the Hidaka family. A polymath with great talent. Boyfriend of Tetsu Karan.

Hairo Asahi

A diligent duelist, also studying to become a surgeon. Girlfriend of Yuta Daichi.

Yuta Daichi

Not a duelist, but frequently hanging out with them. Boyfriend of Hairo.

Karasu Nori

"Karasu the Rogue", an extremely handsome boy who nonetheless is a bit clueless, romantically.

Chiyoko Shizu

A quiet, serious duelist, and a compulsive matchmaker.

Tetsu Karan
A carefree duelist who trains little and fights with his sharp intuition. Boyfriend of Hidaka.

Chikaku Academy

Yosai Akio
Captain of the dueling team, until recently. Demanding, but concerned primarily with his own victory.

Kumoru Yuji
An unpleasant guy, whose dueling style is based around manipulating fear.

Nanafushi Kazue
Pleasant and unassuming most of the time, but in the arena, reveals her true nature as "Chikaku's Demon", a cunning and powerful duelist. After the match with Bosatsu, has taken command of Chikaku's team.

Other Characters

Kono Sayuri

A Bosatsu student. Not a duelist, but a fan of Jin after he saved her from some bullies. Hasn't really done much yet, because this story is about rock paper scissors.

Umari Toshio

Former captain of Bosatsu. An analytical duelist with strong technique, but without much aptitude for training others. Publically humiliated by Ryoichi.
